The Day of the wedding
As soon as I met Zoe and Anthony I knew their wedding would be one to remember! They had plans for a church wedding local to home and then on to the stunning Nettlestead place for the wedding reception. At our consultation we got the chance to talk about the plans for the big day over coffee, one of the standout moments for me was hearing they planned having both of their dogs at the church as ring bearers, one being a Boston terrier and the other a super cute French bulldog, a breed of dog that I totally adore.
On the morning of the wedding I arrived at the house and began photographing Zoe and the bridesmaids, as they got ready with the hair and makeup. Zoe had two dresses one for the wedding and one for the evening, these made for some great photos when backlighted by the large bay window upstairs. Before we knew it, it was time to get the dress on and when Zoe was ready she made her way down the stairs to show her Granddad what all the fuss was about. Everyone was literally jaw dropped! Zoe looked amazing and was no ready to make her way to the church to see her new husband to be.
Anthony had arrived at the church and was greeting friends and family outside before heading in himself for the ceremony. When guests were seated the vicar made the announcement for the ceremony to begin and asked everyone to be upstanding the bridal party made the walk down the isle towards Anthony, closely followed by Zoe and her Granddad who looked the proudest man alive.
Anthony was blown away when he locked eyes with Zoe, you could see the connection these guys have as they held hands and exchanged a few sweet words before the ceremony began. The ceremony was full of hymns; readings and a live choir who made the most amazing sound echoing though the building as they sang, even the weather blessed us with a dry day and perfect skies, it was simply meant to be.
After exchanging vows and the rings Anthony leant in to make it official with a kiss under the applause of their family and friends. The New Mr & Mrs Murray signed the register and finished the service with a blessing before walking the isle one last time leading guests outside for confetti. One of Zoe’s friends did bring along a drone so as we prepared for the confetti line up it gave him enough time to get the drone up in the air and ready to film this special part of the day for them.
Guests were soon arriving at Nettlestead Place and on arrival enjoyed drinks in the gardens and gazebo, which is new for this year. I think this is a great place for guests to congregate and enjoy a drink or two and on this occasion a live band where hired to play various background music and covers under the gazebo. I used this time to capture the more natural photos while canopies where enjoyed in the summer sun.
I gave the guys about half hour before starting group shots and once we had ticked all the shots we needed on the list I took Anthony and Zoe away heading out into the stunning gardens Nettlestead has to offer. I love shooting here and you only have to look at the photos to see why, the grounds have an amazing array of flowers bursting with color and features dotted all over the place to create something a little special for my clients. Today we certainly managed to do that J
It was now time for everyone to head into the marque for the wedding breakfast, which I have to say, looked the best I’ve ever seen it dressed! Flowers, flowers and more flowers made the place come to life with a really classy finish. A huge roar of applause greeted Zoe and Anthony as they made their way to the top table. Toast drinks and the long awaited speeches soon followed the wedding breakfast. First up was Zoe’s Granddad who made a heartfelt speech and even sang a song for Zoe before handing over to Anthony who brought tears to most of the guests.
Anthony had two brothers who were best men today and as they stepped up to the top table with mics in hand, pulled off an amazing duo act full of embarrassing stories from Anthony’s past and some messages of love and support for the new married couple. To close the formalities of the day the wedding cake was cut and prepared in the kitchen for the evening guests to enjoy, soon after the DJ announced the 1st dance and gathered guests around the dance floor announcing the Bride and Groom to the center of the dance floor to share a slow dance together before friends joined them to get the party underway.
I had a great day looking after Mr & Mrs Murray, to finish our photography off we snuck out to the lake to nail this last fairytale photo. Thank you for having me Mr & Mrs Murray.
