Chelsey & Mark had planned a summer wedding in Rochester, Kent with their closest friends and family and boy did they have an amazing day!
On the morning of the wedding were really lucky with the weather and it was a nice local wedding so very little travel required :) On arrival to Chelsey’s parents house and after the introductions and a cheeky coffee it was time to get to work. I had Gem with me on this assignment and so we were able to provide Mark with groom prep as well as bridal prep coverage. While Gemma worked with Mark I had the pleasure of working alongside Becky from Affordable Glamour who did a great job with Chelsey’s hair.
I noticed Chelsey’s personalized Converse pumps and couldn’t help but shoot a few images of these. The little bows on the heel and the Mrs Lowery in diamantes along the side really finished them off. After some bridal shots the car had pulled up outside and we were ready to make tracks to the ceremony which was to be held at the registry office in Rochester.
Mark and the boys had already arrived at the ceremony and were waiting for the rest of the guests to fill the remaining seats before Chelsey’s arrival. The ceremony went perfectly and left a few people in tears, you could tell these guys couldn’t wait to tie the knot and it was a real privilege to share it with them from behind the camera. It wasn’t long before the marriage certificate had been handed to Mark and the guys made there way outside to cheers and applause from their upstanding friends and family.
I think its key to give the guys some space at this part of the day so they had a good 15 minutes to celebrate with their guests before I intervened for the group photos. Rochester is known for its stunning castle and cathedral so I made sure we made good use of these through out the group and romantic shots. Chelsey and Mark where well up for it so we managed to click through loads of shots in and around the castle grounds. I love shooting weddings and it’s that extra bit special when the crowd is friendly and up for a good laugh. I was made to feel like family from the moment I came to Chelsey’s parents house and I’d like to thank you all for being an awesome bunch!
The evening started to draw in and it was soon time for those memorable speeches and toasts. The guests began to get stuck into the buffet food while the DJ provided some background music. This is my time to grab some downtime and a well needed drink before preparing for the upcoming 1st dance and party antics. It was soon time for the 1st dance which included a dance with Chelsey’s dad Darren, Its one of my favorite parts of the evening and was great to see the guys enjoying that father daughter moment.
The party was now well underway and the girls were chucking shapes to some classic tunes! After caprturing some more of the party atmosphere I sneaked the guys off for some of the last shots of the night at dusk, finishing with a “Thank you” message for the guests.
I loved capturing the day for these two and I sincerely wish them the very best future together. Please enjoy this handful of my images that captured Mark & Chelsey’s wedding day.
