Xanthe and Andrew came to me last year looking for a photographer to compliment their amazing choice of venue at the Knowle Country House in Higham, Kent. I’ve known the guys for a long time now and couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding day for them. Andrew is a massive Southampton supporter, which showed with the splashes of red in the bouquet and attire for the rest of the bridal party. Both these guys work their socks off and all their hard work had come together today to create their dream wedding and to share it with their closest family and friends.
Upon arrival and a brief introduction over coffee :) I soon got to work capturing Xanthe and the girls getting ready naturally and without interruption. Xanthe had arranged for Suzie a close friend to do all of the hair for the girls and I have to say what an amazing job! The girls looked incredible and it wasn’t long before Xanthe was getting into her stunning dress and slipping on her Christian Louboutin shoes.
Before we knew it Andrew had arrived and guests started to trickle into their seats from the garden area. The ceremony was that extra bit special for me as id known the guys for a few years now, after the rings exchanged and the vows made the guys sealed the deal with a kiss and a cheer from the guests.
I waited 15 minutes for the guests to share their well wishes, hugs and kisses before rounding up the guests for some group photos which were a lot of fun I might add. I then took Andrew and Xanthe away into the stunning orchard and pond area to shoot some romantic photos.
The reception was very touching with some heart felt speeches and plenty of funny stories to follow including a few digs about Andrew’s poor squash court record against his best man. This part of that day is always very special because the stress and anticipation of the morning has now disappeared so you really get to see the new mr and mrs relax and enjoy the evening with friend and family. As evening guests arrived the 1st dance was upon us followed by a great party which had me there till way past bed time J We managed to take advantage of the grounds spectacular scenery as the night started to draw in with some shots from around the lake and gardens.
I won’t ramble on too much about what, how and when so I’d prefer for my pictures to do the talking for me. Here are a handful of my favorite shots that tell Andrew and Xanthe’s story.
