Claire and Olly are a couple madly in love and with plenty of drive! This really showed on their wedding day with the sheer amount of detail put into making their wedding day so special. The date had been set and the venue of choice was the stunning Old Kent Barn in Swingfield, kent.
I had the pleasure of working with Gem on this assignment so she covered Olly’s groom prep at a local hotel while I looked after Claire and the girls at Old kent Barn. The venue looked perfect with its manicured grounds and stunning barn against the blue skies. Claires bridal prep was such a good laugh with plenty of music, champagne and stories some of which can’t be repeated on this blog :) The staff at the barn where very attentive and made the day run like a well oiled machine, even down to helping Claire into her dress which I though was a nice touch.
Before we knew it Olly had arrived and guests started to trickle into there seats from the bar area. Claire looked amazing and made her way down the isle after her bridesmaids with dad and you could tell by their faces that they couldn’t wait to tie the knot. The ceremony was beautiful and after the rings and vows exchanged guests had the chance to congratulate and send well wishes while a Steele band chimed away in the background.
The guys had a beach theme running through out the day, which consisted of fishbowl center pieces with floating flowers, hot pink cravats and turquoise bridesmaid dresses and chair sashes. I loved the idea of using an old travel suitcase on the thank you table for guests to leave cards and gifts in. After rounding up the troops for some group photos I took Olly and Claire away to shoot some romantic photos away from the crowd and wolf whistles :)
The reception was a blast with some heart felt speeches and plenty of funny stories to follow from the best man. As evening guests arrived the 1st dance was upon us followed by a great party. We managed to take advantage of the grounds spectacular scenery as the sun came down and the night started to draw in.
Here a handful of my favorite shots that tell Claire and Olly’s story.
