Maxine and Lee…….where do I even start with this one? :)
I have so much I want to say about this wedding and these guys but I fell this blog wont be enough to do it justice. Anyway im going to give this a shot so please stick the kettle on, sit back, relax and enjoy their story.
After tying down the finer details of the day over coffee it was clear this was going to be an epic wedding with an abundance of extras such as a casino, live band and a magician to top things off. Months passed as the days were ticked off the calendar and now the big day was here. Max and the girls were getting ready at Soltan manor while Lee got ready at his mums with the guys. I had the pleasure of having gem with me on this assignment so we split up to cover the morning prep for the guys.
When I arrived at the venue it looked stunning! The lake and grounds were well looked after and even the owners were picking up loose leaves from the lawn areas leaving the venue in pristine order. I took a walk over to the ceremony gazebo, which is nestled amongst the ruins of an old church and surrounded by well-established trees and bushes. The way the sun was breaking through the trees made the place look even more special.
The morning prep went as planned and was great to see the guys relaxed and enjoying the build up, either that or it was the three bottles of champagne that might helped a little :)
The place was starting to buzz as guests arrived and it wasn’t long before lee and the guys rocked up and looked very dapper in their ted baker suits, I caught up with Gem and then rounded the boys up for some shots while it was still quiet.
Max was now getting into her dress and when the final touches were made she looked wicked! I knew Lee was going to melt when he sees her come down the isle and I couldn’t wait to capture it.
We managed to nail some nice bridal shots before the girls took the short walk to the ceremony so I broke off ahead of them to get into place.
The ceremony was everything you could wish for with tears, great people and plenty of love in the air. Lee folded when he see Max walking towards him and I have to say it was a really touching part of the day. These guys were so in love and having already made a great connection with them made us feel like it was far from being at work.
After confetti and a few drinks we moved onto group shots and some romantics in the great grounds of the venue and being my first wedding at the venue I was loving the chance to shoot here.
The day unraveled without a hitch and at a nice steady pace so the guys really got to enjoy the use of the venue, which I think is so important on a day like this. The magician worked the tables before the wedding breakfast which made for some great shots with guests reactions to his tricks. The meal was followed up with some epic speeches that still have me laughing as I write this, we have Wayne (the best man) to thank for this and I’m sure its one speech that wont be forgotten by him or the guests for a while to come :)
The evening really started to get under way with the bar and casino in full swing and you could see everyone was having a great time. Dollars where left at each guests space on the tables so they had chips to purchase after dinner, a great idea and made for some nice imagery. After cutting the cake it was time for the all-important 1st dance, which the band played live. The band continued to play som e great covers and soon guests were also invited to join the couple on the dance floor, there were some pretty dangerous shapes being thrown around by this point :)
I took the guys out for some night shots, which came out great and then packed the gear away to join them for a cheeky pint or two :)
An amazing bunch and a top couple made this feel far from being at work. Thank you all for your hospitality and massive congratulations to you guys!
You guys will know what I mean when you meet people and it’s just easy, Well these guys felt like friends from the moment we met last year and I have to say was one of the best weddings of 2015! Here’s a handful of shots from their day that tell Mr & Mrs Radfords story.
