I met Jim and Kelly while exhibiting at the Orchard Spot in maidstone last year and instantly hit it off! The guys planned to tie the knot at the Marriot hotel in maidstone, kent just before the bank holiday in August. After some Spurs, Everton banter and some all important photography talk we were arranging a time and place to meet to pin down the finer details.
Months passed and the big day was now upon us! I got to the venue a little earlier than usual, I really clicked with these guys and wanted to make sure they got plenty of photos. After snapping away while I had a wander around Jim and the boys started to arrive, I let the guys grab a cold beer while I continued to shoot candid before rounding them up for some shots outside in the gardens of the venue.
I had such a good laugh with this lot and almost lost track of time! before we knew it we were half hour off the ceremony taking place and guests were starting to arrive in the lobby. As Jim and the guys greeted guests and spoke to the registrar I waited outside for Kelly’s arrival. I didn’t have to wait long before Kelly arrived with the bridesmaids. The girls looked awesome and we managed to squeeze a few shots in before the registrar took Kelly to one side for the formal side of the ceremony.
Jim waited patiently for his wife to be to come down the isle and when the music started to play for Kelly’s entrance his face started to beam with the biggest smile you have ever seen! The ceremony was just perfect, a few tears and some heartfelt readings were topped off with that all important kiss as Kelly & Jim sealed the deal.
It was now time to soak up some August sunshine outside on the terrace while the Champagne and Pimms was offered to all involved. I gave the guys 15 minutes for the hugs and kisses before starting the confetti and group photos. It was a great crowd today and it makes all the difference when drilling through the list of group photos. 20 minutes later the guests were back at the terrace to mingle and bask in the gorgeous weather while I took Jim and Kelly off for their photos.
We had such a laugh with the romantics and finished the photos off with my favorite shot of the day, which was under a stunning tree with the sun bursting through its canopy. It was a real pleasure capturing such a magic day and I want to wish them the very best as they begin their new chapter together as Mr & Mrs Martin.
