I met Deb & Ollie while exhibiting at the Detling showground last October. After talking wedding packages and the guys taking a flyer away with them we had soon arranged to meet up. Over coffee and a cake we had most of the planning pinned down, the date was set and the venue of choice was the stunning Mount Ephraim! I love this venue and couldn’t wait to get stuck in capturing their big day for them.
Months passed and before we knew it the wedding were upon us! On arrival to Mount Ephraim I could see that Steph from Belle Fleur was already hard at work dressing the main room and lobby area. I made my way to see Deb and the girls before getting to work.
The girls were having a good laugh and bang on form this morning! I’m pretty sure this had something to do with the two bottles of prosecco that were open on the side :)
Debs dress was incredible! a classic lace number and I couldn’t help but start with this before getting stuck into the candid shots of the girls getting ready. While I was at it Steph was just getting ready to deliver the Bouquets to Deb so I grabbed some shots of her stunning flowers as well. It was soon approaching midday and Ollie and the boys had arrived with plenty of time to spare, this was great for the timings so I took advantage of this and took them off for some shots before the place started to buzz with guests. The morning went perfectly and after a few last minute dress adjustments it was time for dad to see his daughter for the first time before walking her down the isle. When he entered the room and laid eyes on Deb he couldn’t hold back the emotions, I love my job and capturing raw moments like this are one of the reasons I enjoy it so much.
The lobby was now full and Ollie waited patiently with his best man for Debs arrival, once the music started to play Ollie’s smile started to beam with the occasional glance up the stairs to see if he could catch Debs face. The ceremony was great to be a part of with plenty of smiles and some great readings from close friends, the guys then sealed the deal with that all important first kiss before the guests came outside for us to close with some confetti :)
Mount Ephraim has some amazing grounds to work with and to be fair it’s a bit of a photographers dream. With this in mind we then took the short walk down to the grand staircase in the gardens for the group photos and finished with some truly stunning romantic shots in the meadow and garden areas of the venue. I like to ensure couples get plenty of down time in-between the ceremony and wedding breakfast so its not too rushed and today we managed to do just that. The guys were soon back with their guests to enjoy a drink or two while I continued to capture the goings on.
The wedding breakfast was a feast of great food, speeches and some pretty impressive editing skills by the best man, especially the shot of Ollie in the silver metro driving naked :) It was soon time to cut the cake before their first dance, after the guests were ushered into the lobby area and the lights dimmed Deb and Ollie made their way down the staircase and smoothly broke into a waltz style dance while as the band played. Just before I was to break off for the evening I decided to take the guys out for some romantics to cap off the day, the shots are some of my favorites this year and were dramatized by the epic weather and clacks of thunder and lightning we had in the distance as we took the shots.
I’d like to wish Deb and Ollie a wonderful future together and a big thank you to all who came to celebrate with them, you were a great bunch and I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do. Please feel free to leave your own thoughts and comments in the section below :)
