Friday 15th August started off overcast with the threat of rain, but nothing was going to damper Jemma and Liams big day. This was a super exciting wedding, not just because Jemma and Liam were fantastic clients, but Liam serves in the British army, stationed in Germany and was coming home to marry his girl! Liam and his best men had decided to wear military dress, complete with swords, so I was super excited as Im fascinated by Military history.
On our consultation Jemma and Liam had requested more natural photography, so whilst waiting for the Bride to arrive, we perched up in the grounds of Dartford registry office and shot it as it happened, catching some lovely intimate shots of friends and family arriving.
The ceremony was held in a beautiful low-lit beamed room and surrounded by 30 of their closest friends and family, the atmosphere was intimate but still light enough for us to have a great laugh with family and friends.
Once the guys had signed the register and had some time with their guests we took them off to the gardens and did some romantics- Jemma was a real giggler so it made my job so much easier and was a tremendous amount of fun.
The group shots were to be taken in the grounds of the golf course, so once the canapés had been served and there was a break in the rain, we shot their group shots. Jemma and Liam wanted some traditional shots of the families and then a couple of fun ones. We had a blast doing this! a group shot that Liam had requested involved his close friends and super-heros t-shirts! It didnt take any more to convince me this was going to a scream! we used our creative super strength (see what I did there?) :) to nail the shots- check out the gallery as these came out brilliantly! Ive never had Superman, Captain America and Spiderman all at the same wedding before!
The rest of the evening we spent capturing natural moments, from the hugs and kisses, to the dancing. It was a great celebration with lots of lovely moments.
To finish the evening off, we suggested using the lake on the course to produce some creative flash photography shots and what a result. We backlit Jemma and Liam and the end result was some dramatic and romantic night time shots.
As always it was a privilege to be part of Jemma and Liam's day. We had so much fun, made some great friends and have been able to give them awesome memories of their day.
